Marmariç team lived together in Kuzguncuk, Istanbul for 15 years, and then, they decided to live in the country. They found an abandoned village in İzmir. Some members of the group settled there and some others continued from the city. This is an initiative nearly every environmentalist believes that works and succeeds.

Marmariç team’s own description is ‘The aim that put us together was to establish a communal life in the country ... We do not rely on the words while describing ourselves as we do not claim that there is only one and the best truth. All of these do not mean that there isn’t only one way that united us. We have our preferences. We learn while living and doing.’
